Ground Zero Wrestling Association's premiere fall event, Devils May Cry, is set for Monday, September 25, 2017 at the Barclay's Arena located in Brooklyn, New York. Every current champion will have to put their reigns to the test as they are set to defend their titles at this event with the odds highly stacked against their favor. It's enough to make even the devil himself cry.
In preparation for this event, GZWA has taken over Brooklyn, New York for this weekend by providing the friends and fans of the GZWA Nation to take part in ongoing press conferences, multiple signing events over the course of the weekend, and even a company banquet on Saturday evening.
Known throughout the wrestling world for their wrestling careers for a rivalry that has spanned across several different promotions throughout their fabled careers, it seems that both of these men wish to settle this rivalry once and for all within the confines of a GZWA ring in a Best of Three Falls match.
Equinox returns to GZWA in his first match in years with the company while the IconSlayer himself, Chris Matthews, has pegged this as a one-night only appearance with the promotion. Which of these men is going to come out on top?
For the past few weeks, Laura Jackson has been pitted into a bitter rivalry with the recently departed Jennifer Dunn. She mysteriously left GZWA without a trace, but that hasn't stopped the Tattooed Beauty's thirst to be a champion once more, not even if it means going through a graduate from the 3 Kount Wrestling training school, like Zora Graysen.
Will Zora allow her self-doubt consume her or will she prove to be a match for the one-half of the record-holding longest reigning Tag Team Champions in company history? That's a question that the GZWA Nation would have to tune in to find the answer to.
The Mega Busters (consisting of Matthew Miles, Kevin Allen - better known as Psycho Sagus, and Ashleigh Cash) have been on a sort of a roll lately, only to have that derailed by the roadblock that always stands in their way in their careers - The Enforcers (consisting of G-Money Briggs and Dequan Wallace). The Enforcers recently relieved their former manager of her duties, but is that any real reason for the Mega Busters to get relaxed with this upcoming challenge hot on their heels?
After Maryse Ouellet's outspeaken demeanor on a recent interview on ReAction with Akasha Monroe has set Mariah off on social media to defend herself and the women's division that she holds dear to her heart as a company veteran. The Showstoppin' Senorita issued the challenge and the Sexiest of the Sexy eagerly accepted as we shall have these two women face off for the first time within a GZWA ring - one on one.
Maryse Ouellet has been quiet on social media since accepting Mariah's challenge, but is reportedly not taking this match lightly. The same can be said for the Showstoppin' Senorita, who has been training harder than ever before for this match.
The newest faces to join the GZWA roster - Chance Justice, Luke "The Irresistible" Force, and Desmond Masters - will square off in a triple threat match. This will be the first time that all three of these Superstars will face each other in GZWA. Win or lose, this is the opportunity of a lifetime for these newcomers to impress GZWA Management.
Sarah Richardson, another Ring of Beauty alumni that has joined the GZWA women's division, faces off the newlywed wife of Desmond Masters, Zabrina Masters. While GZWA fans haven't seen much of these women in action in recent weeks, they have been making waves within the wrestling industry for multiple promotions over the years. This is a match that a lot of people within the GZWA Nation are saying that may surprise people.
Since capturing the Vixen's - now referred to as the Women's - Championship, Blake Harper has considered herself unstoppable as the new "queen" of the women's division in GZWA. Fate has not been in her favor as of late as she now has not one, but three challengers hot on her heels to bring her reign of terror to an end. Former Ring of Beauty starlet, current rising star within Hollywood and wrestler for multiple promotions around globe, including LAW and GZWA, Crystal Hilton-Millar seeks begin her walk of fame here with her first title win. Crystal Millar defeated Blake Harper in a non-title match 1v1 to earn a spot in this match. The self-proclaimed "Million Dollar Bitch", Susie Price, wishes to start her own reign of terror with her sister, Danielle, at her side as she grips her remnants of her sanity. Susie earned her spot in this match after being the only Vixen to make Blake to submit in non-title match a few weeks prior. Last but not least, we have the #1 contender, Ursula - now going by her real name, Talia Areano. Talia is the elder sibling of Reina de Reina Dos competitor, Olivia Areano, and she won the #1 contender status after being the last woman standing in a Gauntlet Match involving the entire women's division a month ago on Primetime.
When the GZWA Tag Team division was in the swing of its revival earlier this year, Konrad Raab and Samuel Chatman were one of many teams looking to take up this newfound challenge placed at their feet. Despite conflicting conflicts outside of GZWA as Raab works for several promotions throughout the professional wrestling industry and Samuel Chatman spends his free time as a part-time member of the United States military, the duo have managed to make this team work and found success by toppling the previous champions - the Enforcers.
On the other end of the spectrum, we have a set of women who have joined the roster as bitter enemies. They are three of the women from the former Ring of Beauty promotion that GZWA fans have predicted on social media that are "taking over" the GZWA Nation and definitely ones to watch in 2017. Bobbi Jackson-Showtime, wife of Ring of Beauty promoter, Mike Showtime, and the Frost sisters - Eliza and Dominique, have put their differences aside and worked out their bitter hatred to come together as a force to be reckoned with within the Tag Team division. They have taken advantage of the fabled "Freebirds rule" - allowing any two members of this partnership to compete in their matches to add an additional layer to their partnership and valuable strategy.
At Final Encounter, the reigning champions, the Honourable Princes, shall accept the challenge of the form of any combination of challenging team consisting of Bobbi Jackson, Eliza Frost, and Dominique Frost with the tag titles on the line. This is truly a battle of the sexes, but definitely a tag team match that GZWA fans will not soon forget!
The GZWA Chairman Xion Zeros has stacked the deck against the reigning World Heavyweight Champion Ry Drake with this 3-on-3 tag team match where whoever scores the winning pinfall or submission is the new World Heavyweight Champion - meaning that the Wraith doesn't even have to be pinned to lose his precious title. His nearly year long title reign could reach an end before he reaches that benchmark. With his loyal followers at his side in the form of the combined might of Rex Terrell and Casey Cortez, it would seem that Ry Drake is unstoppable going into this match, but what if they have championship aspirations of their own? On the other side of the coin, the team of Amanda Cortez, Jayson Heagerty, and Justin Lockhart aren't a team at all - just merely three individuals with a common hatred for Ry Drake. It's just a matter of time before their own individual aspirations for the championship dissolve this fragile alliance. Who is going to walk out of this main event of Devils May Cry with the World Heavyweight Championship when the smoke clears from the destruction of this pending chaos?
