INTERVIEW -- Q & A w/ the GZWA Tag Team Champions: Bobbi Jackson & The Frosts

With Riot Control right around the corner, GZWA.com has been sitting down with talent left and right to ask the burning questions on the minds of the GZWA Nation. Today, we sit down with the current GZWA Tag Team Champions - "The Bobbilicious One" Bobbi Jackson and The Frosts (Eliza Frost and "The Dominiqtrix" Dominique Frost).

GZWA.com: As the winners of the 2017 annual Stardom Tag Team Classic, the team of Bobbi Jackson & the Frosts won the right to enter the Riot Match for the vacant GZWA World Championship as the final two entries at Riot Control. How did you three determine who would compete for this once in a lifetime opportunity? What will you two do if it comes down to one or other to decide a winner?

Bobbi: Look, It's all about give and take. We all make sacrifices for one another. I was willing to give them the final two spots, but Dominique insisted on me competing. The three of us have a bond, something that isn't going to be broken over a championship. If it comes down to just me and Eliza in Riot Control? Well, we will cross that bridge when we come to it and when it's all said and done we will be able to shake hands at the end of it and still be who we are at the end of the day. We will never let anything come between us.

Eliza smiles at Bobbi, resisting the urge to kiss her cheek on camera.

GZWA.com: Time and time again, you ladies have managed to dodge bullets and endure every challenge put in your path. What are you hopes and aspirations for the Tag Team division for the rest of 2018 and beyond?

Eliza: We're hoping to get even more chances to prove we are the best. A title reign's quality isn't measure in only length, after all. So we basically just want to do more of what we've been doing so far, kicking butts and showing just why we are the champs.

Bobbi and Dominque just nod at her statement really not having anything to add to that.

GZWA.com: What does it mean to you to be the second all women’s tag team to win the Stardom Tag Team Classic while holding the Tag Team Championships, like the MisFits (consisting of Laura Jackson and Casey Cortez) the year prior?

Dominique: While of course the very first case is of greater historical significance, it's also important to keep such a good trend going, to show it wasn't just a fluke, that we women CAN stand shoulder to shoulder with every other wrestler, not just the ladies. We're certainly hoping there will be a long line of female teams to hold the titles after us. Though not any time soon, we aren't done with them yet.

She winks and chuckles a bit. Bobbi just shakes her head a bit laughing slightly as well as Dominique always has a way with words.

GZWA.com: As Ring of Beauty alumni making a mark in GZWA, how do feel after being hesitant to come out of retirement and making a splash in the industry again? Is there always pressure to live up to the reputation of that brand?

Bobbi: Oh geez, there's ALWAYS pressure when you decide to come out of retirement. People want to remember you a certain way and they don't want to be disappointed and see a shell of our former selves out there. I'm just glad I feel like things are working out so far. Clearly things have been easier for Eliza as she doesn't have the Ring of Beauty reputation to live up to...Lucky you!

Bobbi says playfully poking the brunettes shoulder.

Eliza: Well, true, but then I also had to start building up my fans from scratch while trying not to be overshadowed by two more established stars, first sis and now you both, but I think I've done a preeetty decent job of it.

Bobbi: Fair enough...

GZWA.com: There’s been some criticisms from your peers that all of the champions should be out promoting the GZWA brand and themselves - on and off-air. What have been your contributions in this regard as the GZWA Nation has come to expect your trio to speak from your actions in the ring rather than standing on a pedestal for attention?

Eliza: Look, at the end of the day the people pay to see us in the ring, not behind a mic. I think our message comes across loud and clear when we get in there and whoop the butts of any big-mouths that think they can step up to us. It's not like we don't attend promotional events so fans can meet us face to face, that's something really special to a fan and we're very proud to be able to give some of them that experience, but we just don't see the need to try and paint pretty pictures with words when we can produce the works of art in the ring that we do each and every time.

Dominique and Bobbi nod their heads in agreement.

GZWA.com: Any advice for aspiring women in the industry who are being judged on merely their physical appearance rather than in-ring abilities from your own experiences?

Dominique: As someone who wasn't originally hired to wrestle in Ring of Beauty, but to look damn good with a mic in my hand as an interviewer, don't give up just because others don't see in you what you do. You might want to consider if you're in the wrong place if their priorities remain so skewed despite your efforts, but don't tap out, keep on reaching for that proverbial brass ring and eventually someone will see your passion and drive.

Bobbi: Well said...

GZWA.com: Anything that you would want to say to the GZWA Nation before this pivotal event?

Bobbi: We've all worked super hard for this moment, I know when I came back my focus was on becoming the Vixens Champion. But one thing led to another and I found myself in the ring with the men and that allowed me to prove to not only myself but everyone else that I can compete against any man or woman in this company. Becoming GZWA World Champion would be the ultimate validation of my choice to come out of retirement and that would simply be amazing. I promise I will give it everything I have to not disappoint the GZWA Nation.

Eliza: Oh don't you worry, we won't be sending them home disappointed, I can promise that. We'll put on a show they won't be forgetting any time soon regardless of which one of us comes out on top at the end of the night, like we do each and every time.

She winks at the camera and blows a kiss as the view fades out.
